A word from the Director

Welcome to the Lille Economics Management (LEM) research laboratory website.

The LEM is a Mixed Research Unit (#9221) which comprises the CNRS (National Centre for Scientific Research), the University of Lille, the University and Polytechnic Federation of Lille and our partner school, the University of Artois.

The LEM spreads its activities over 6 sites in the Lille urban area: the IAE (Institute of Business Administration), the Faculty of Economics and Social Sciences (Cité Scientifique Campus), the Faculty of Legal, Political & Social Sciences (Moulins Campus), the MIME (Economics, Management, Mathematics, Computer Science Department (Pont de Bois Campus), the Faculté de Gestion Économie et Sciences (FUPL), the IÉSEG School of Management, and the University of Artois in Arras (U. Artois).

The LEM is currently composed of over 190 researchers and teacher-researchers in the fields of economics, management and statistics and more than 80 PhD students. The research conducted within the LEM is, by its nature, multidisciplinary. It is also theoretical and applied since the LEM members reply to requests emanating from economic and social interest groups and their research echo most often important societal issues.

While visiting our website, you will discover that the LEM is not only a young and dynamic laboratory with a marked and noteworthy scientific ambition but it also has an international vocation. This is why the HCERES, the High Council for Evaluation of Research and Higher Education, (France’s higher education assessment board), described the laboratory as "among the best units in economics-management in France" with a scientific production considered as "excellent".

The LEM management team and all its members wish you a pleasant visit to this site.
